Dear Friends and Neighbors,
The Village continues to move forward with measures to maintain the highest level of services while reducing costs wherever possible. I am pleased to announce that one such measure has paid immediate dividends. The decision last fall to partner with Tri-State Fire Protection District has improved our fire insurance rating significantly.
The Village’s recently released rating climbed from a “9” rating, to a “3,” due to the equipment and staffing capabilities of our Fire Department. What this means is lower homeowner premiums and even more substantial insurance savings for our local business community. In addition, the new rating helps the Village budget. To date, the Village has seen a $70,000 reduction in worker’s compensation insurance. The climb in our fire rating to a “3” means additional insurance savings for our Fire Department and Village as a whole. For more details about the new rating for our residents and businesses, please read Willow Fire Rating Climbs Near Top.
Last year the Annual Benefit Car Show attracted 420 entrees to the Show. This year the Show on August 7th was a hit! Due to the success of this year’s Show, the Village expanded the number of beneficiaries of the Willow Springs Family and Veteran Relief Fund. Added this year were: Honor Flight Chicago, Wounded Warrior Project, American Legion Post 832
(Willow Springs), and Vietnam Veterans of America.
Please enjoy the rest of the summer and slow down to keep our streets safe for our children.
