Like spring, I believe we are planting seeds to ensure we have plenty for tomorrow. I believe we have turned the corner. We have streamlined services and still met challenges such as our street-plowing team faced this winter.

We have begun building revenues from our local sales tax share that will be dedicated to restarting the village street program. Meanwhile, I have been in contact with road officials to get state routes through our town repaired as quickly the weather permits.

I am pleased that changes to our village website have been well-received by residents. Many seem to like the new police blotter. Feedback was very positive from some of those who attended a property tax relief seminar we hosted and advertised on our web. 

We have continued to produce the website internally to hold down costs such as web hosting and maintenance. Please feel free to contribute news about your local group or events. We hope to grow the site with photos of events and useful news for residents.

When you see him about town, please congratulate Bob Faulk on his nomination for the Cook County Sheriff's Senior Medal of Honor award. Bob is a key part of our Seniors Club operations and stays on top of what is happening in town. I was proud to nominate him to be honored April 15th in Chicago as a distinguished member of our community.

Another important member of our village, a very young girl, needs our help. Kelly Maleki is fighting a brave battle against cancer. The village is planning a classic car show August 14th in part to raise funds to help with Kelly's medical bills.

I ask that residents please come together to support this young child and spend an enjoyable evening together as a community at the same time.
