New ‘2’ ISO Rating means savings on homeowners insurance
Tri-State Fire Protection District, recently received the distinction of attaining a “2” Classification from the ISO Rating System, which assesses capabilities and readiness of emergency responders.
The new rating, the highest achievable for residential properties, typically equates to cost savings on homeowners insurance policies. The rating provides an even greater insurance savings for commercial and industrial policy holders. The rate officially goes into effect on July 1, 2015.
Tri-State, which began serving Willow Springs in fall 2013, held a “3” ISO Rating prior to being reevaluated and gaining the “2” distinction. Local residents are encouraged to contact their homeowners insurance carrier to inform them of the new fire rating for their address (for a copy of the ISO Rating Letter PLEASE CLICK HERE). Not all insurance companies give the same discount from on ISO ratings. Please shop around to take advantage of the best possible rate.
Prior to partnering with Tri-State Fire Protection District, the Village operated a Fire Department staffed with part-time firefighters and modest equipment. The former Department held a rating of “7” to “9” as assessed by ISO.
