REFUSE & RECYCLING COLLECTION INFORMATION: Residents may set out unlimited household waste and unlimited household recycling each week on collection day. Residents are required to utilize the carts provided. Residents may also use their own containers no greater than 35 gallons and are not to exceed 45 pounds. If a resident would like to rent an additional waste or recycling cart please contact LRS.
RECYCLABLES (commingled) may be placed in the provided recycling cart. Review the full list of acceptable and unacceptable recyclable materials at LRS.
COLLECTION SERVICE: On collection day refuse and recycling carts are to be set out no later than 6 AM at a location that is visible and readily accessible to collection workers.
YARD WASTE COLLECTION SERVICE: Residents may set out yard waste (grass, leaves, shrubbery cuttings, brush material, branches, etc.) at the curb in brown yard waste paper bags designed for the collection of yard waste material. No personal containers allowed. Each bag is not to exceed 32 gallons in capacity or 50 pounds in weight. Branches/ brush may be set out in bundles. Individual branches are not to exceed 4 ft. in length or 4” in diameter and each bundle is not to exceed 50 pounds.
- Prepaid Village of Willow Springs Yard Waste Sticker must be affixed to each bag or bundle set out.
- Yard Waste must be set out for collection no later than 6AM on your collection day
- Yard Waste Collection runs April 1 – December 31
- Yard Waste Stickers are available for purchase at Village Hall
- Holiday Greenery (Christmas trees, wreaths, etc.) will be collected the first two weeks of January
BULK & LARGE ITEM COLLECTION: Residents may set out one bulk item per week for collection.
Bulk items (that do not fit into your refuse cart) are collected loose, on your regular day of service. If an item exceeds 50lbs, residents may need to call LRS to schedule a special pickup. If a “bulk” item is considered hazardous, unacceptable for landfills or deemed unacceptable to take as garbage, the item(s) will not be taken.
Mattresses and box/bed springs are required to be in a plastic mattress cover and taped securely shut. Plastic mattress covers may be purchased at retail outlets such as Walmart, Lowes, Menards, Home Depot and storage unit facilities. Packaging wrap or trash bags cut up and taped around to cover a mattress or box spring are also acceptable options.

ELECTRONIC WASTE COLLECTION: Residents in need of electronic waste collection must contact LRS to schedule a curbside pickup. LRS will record your name and address and will contact you four days prior to the scheduled collection of you electronic waste collection. This service is done at no charge. Collection is only available for e-waste generated by Village residents.
HOLIDAY COLLECTION SCHEDULE: New Year’s Day, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving Day, Independence Day, Christmas Day will be observed and will not have collection on these days. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, Monday and Tuesday collection will be delayed one day.
Seniors:
Seniors (65 years and older) who are registered with the Village, will have the option of choosing a 35 gallon refuse & recycle cart instead of the 96 gallon and 64 gallon sizes.
